Expressions of interest to join the Code Monitoring and Compliance Panel have now closed.
The New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC) sets a minimum standard of service for retailers providing residential and small customers with new energy tech products, systems and services. New energy tech providers that have been admitted by the Administrator into the NETCC program are bound as Signatories to comply with the NETCC when providing new energy tech to their customers. The NETCC has been authorised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). Signatories to the Clean Energy Council’s Solar Retailer Code of Conduct are due to be transitioned to the NETCC by 1 February 2023.
The Code Monitoring and Compliance Panel (the Panel) is an independent body that will oversee the monitoring and enforcement of compliance with the NETCC. All Panel representatives must be independent of Signatories and the Administrator. The role of the Panel includes:
All decisions of the Panel are final. Signatories have no right of review beyond the Panel.
Panel members will be appointed for three years and are eligible for reappointment. The Panel will meet at least quarterly. Sitting fees will apply.
